My name is Duane Long. I earned my PhD in philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin in 2017. My dissertation involved using my training in ancient philosophy to write a commentary on G.E.M. Anscombe's masterwork Intention in the tradition of Aristotle commentaries. After grad school, I returned my focus to my first love, Aristotle's philosophy, but I maintain an interest in contemporary ethics and philosophy of action. Since Fall 2024, I have been employed as a Teaching Assistant Professor at Iowa State University. From 2019-2025, I worked at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Since 2021, I have had five papers accepted for publication: first in Ancient Philosophy, then two in Apeiron, and one in each of Inquiry and Rhizomata. I have also authored two invited book reviews, one for Bryn Mawr Classical Review and one for Philosophical Quarterly.
